Lent is a season of forty days, not including Sundays, it begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday, the word “Lent” comes from the Angle Saxton word “Lencten” which means spring.
The forty days represents the time Jesus spend in the wilderness.
Lent is a time where you try to take something up like going to mass or praying or give something up like eating sweets.
Sundays in Lent are not counted in the 40 days because each Sunday represents a “mini Easter”
You should go to mass and pray more often for the time of Lent
