Mary, Mother of Jesus

 


Mary was born on the 8 of September. The different names for Mary are Virgin Mary, Saint Mary, Mother of Jesus and Nuestra Señora. Nuestra Señora meas “Church of our Lady”. Mary was a Galilean Jewish woman from Nazareth. Mary as a virgin and Christians believe that she conceived her son while a virgin by the Holy Spirit. Mary married Joseph and accompanied him to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. Mary has been regarded with great respect since Early Christianity, and is considered by millions to be the most remembered saint of the religion. She is claimed to have appeared to believers many times over the centuries. The Eastern and Roman Catholic churches believe that Mary, as mother of Jesus, is the Mother of God. Mary’s colour is known to be blue.The meaning of the colour blue is for trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.One of the prayers to Mary is the Angelus;

The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
