The Burning Bush

Moses was looking after his father-in-law’s sheep, when he saw a bush on fire. Moses went over to it. He wondered why it wasn’t burning.
“Moses, Moses!” God called out from the bush.
“I am here,” replied Moses.
“Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground,” God told him, “I am God of your ancestors.”
Moses began to get frightened and hide his face.
“I have witnessed the pain of my people in Egypt and know they are suffering. I have come to rescue them from the Egyptians and lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey. Now go. “I am sending you to bring my people out of Egypt,” God continued.
Moses was very surprised.
“Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring your people out of Egypt?” he asked.
God promised that he would stay with him and he did.
