Women at the Well

Jesus was at a city called Sychar. Tired by his journey Jesus sat by a well.

A Samaritan woman came to the well to get some water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
The Samaritan woman said to him, ” why are you, a Jew asking me, a Samaritan, for a drink?”
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
The woman said to him, “but you have no bucket how are you going to get this living water?”
Jesus said to her, “anyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again but anyone who drinks my water will never be thirsty. When they drink my water it will become a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”
The woman said to him, “give me this water so I will never be thirsty and not have to go and get water again. I can see that you are a prophet. Our ancestors worshiped on this hill, but you say we must worship in Jerusalem.”
Jesus said to her,”Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the father neither on this hill or in Jerusalem. You worship what you do not know but we worship what we know.”
The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming. When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us.”
Jesus said to her, “I am Messiah, the one who is speaking to you.”
