On the 3rd of September 2000 Tim, Mom, Dad and I were on a holiday in Sierra Leone. On the first day of our trip Tim and I went to the pool and played lots of fun games. But on the second day it was a lot different all of the locals were running around in panic, there was chaos everywhere my family didn’t have a clue what was going on because they were all speaking in Krio but two hours later we found out what all the chaos was about.

“Thank You” Elijahs Last Diary by Éabha (5th)

Dear Diary,

This diary entry was never meant to happen, but I can’t stop writing these diaries without saying thank you! Thanks so much for reading my diary.  It took a lot of effort to write, but I got there eventually. Its been an amazing experience. Oh, and guess what? Next week, I’m going back to Sierra Leone!!! “The Raffle” a Volunteers Diary Entry 20 by Jack (5th)

Dear Diary,

Its been a week since the fun run. At the fun run, we raised €3,500! That’s great, isn’t it? Anyway, later on today,I’m holding my own raffle! Cool, right? One ticket cost €1.50, and three cost €3.50. Oh, and five cost €6.00. I’m so excited. I have loads of really great prizes. Sweets and vouchers, all kinds of things! Anyway I’ve got to get ready and prepare for the raffle.

“Mount Vesuvius Strikes Again” a Story by Clíona (6th)

It was a sunny day in Pompeii. Marie and her friends were outside playing in the grass. Then Marie heard a weird, loud sound. It seemed to be coming from Mount Vesuvius. She told her friends, Nia and Katelyn, to come in with her. So they followed her in and she told her mother what she heard. Her mother was very worried and called the Italian News.
