Dear Diary,

This diary entry was never meant to happen, but I can’t stop writing these diaries without saying thank you! Thanks so much for reading my diary.  It took a lot of effort to write, but I got there eventually. Its been an amazing experience. Oh, and guess what? Next week, I’m going back to Sierra Leone!!! I won’t a diary this time though… Sorry. I really can’t wait. Lets hope I don’t get ebola this time around! Well, I’m going to go now. Again, thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed my diaries!

“The Raffle” a Volunteers Diary Entry 20 by Jack (5th)

Dear Diary,

Its been a week since the fun run. At the fun run, we raised €3,500! That’s great, isn’t it? Anyway, later on today,I’m holding my own raffle! Cool, right? One ticket cost €1.50, and three cost €3.50. Oh, and five cost €6.00. I’m so excited. I have loads of really great prizes. Sweets and vouchers, all kinds of things! Anyway I’ve got to get ready and prepare for the raffle.

Hello, I am Dr John, and I work at the hospital that Elijah is staying in. She is not dead. We are trying to find a cure. It is harder than we thought it would be. She isn’t too bad though. Elijah is quite hyper actually. We have found a temporary cure and she is due to leave the hospital in two days.

Two days ago, I began to feel a bit nauseous. I was also very tired. Yesterday, I went to the hospital. I – I have very bad news. It turns out that I have ebola. I’m still at the hospital. I’m in a horrible bed. I’m not sure what will happen but I’m scared. This is probably my last diary.

“Elijah Meets Fatu and Kumba” a Volunteers Diary Entry 10 by Sarah (5th)

Dear Diary,

Today I am going to visit two girls. Their names are Fatu and Kumba. Fatu is 5, and Kumba is 7. From what I heard, they are lovely girls. Everbody here seems to know them. They are living about 20 minutes from where I am now. I can’t wait to meet them. I will walk there now.
