From the 1700’s, steam was quickly evolving as a major player in power and transportation. Steam powered engines were pumping water from mines, traveling across railways and waterways. In agriculture it’s presence was felt with the arrival of the steam thresher. Threshing is the process of removing the grain from the stalk.
