Bealtaine ~ report by Eve (6th)

The Bealtaine is the Irish word for May and is also the name of the Celtic festival. The festival marked the beginning of summer.

The words Beal and Taine are Celtic words meaning bright light and fire. The festival is connected with fire. The Celtics Druids performed a ritual which they pulled cattle through two fires. They thought this protected cattle from diseases.
