Henri Matisse ~ A Review by Rory

Henri Matisse was born on the 31 December 1869 in Le Cateau-Cambrésis, France. He grew up in Bohain-en-Vermandois. He showed little to no interest in at until he was 20 years old. In 1887 he studied law for a year and after his legal studies he became a clerk in a law office. In 1890 during his recovery from appendicitis he took a few drawing classes, soon he became very interested in art and started using oil paints. In 1891 he abandoned law and moved to Paris to become a professional artist. In 1892 he started talking classes at the École des Arts Décoratifs. In his late sixties when his abdominal cancer first stopped him from painting, he cut out little pieces of painted paper and stuck them to a canvas. After his health deteriorated further he took to designing stained glass windows with assistants. Matisse died on the 3 of November 1954 from a heart attack

Henri Matisse was a french artist.  He was born on the 31st of December 1869 in Le Chateau-Cambrésis, France and died on the 3rd of November. He died at the age of 84.  He grew up in Bohain-en-Vermandois, Picardy, France. He studdied law in Paris at first. He worked as a court administrator in Le Cateau-Cambrésis when he got his degree.

Henri Matisse- a report by Danny (6th)

Henri Matisse  was born on the 31/12/1869. He was known for his use of colour and use of fluid. Matisse was one of the artists to help define the revolutionary developments of visual art.  Matisse’s strong use of colours made him stand out and got him more  noticed than the others and many of his most famous works was after 1906 when he started to use more intense patterns and colours.

Henri Matisse was a French visual artist. He was born on the 31st of December 1869 and died on the 3rd of November in 1954. He died at the age of 84. Henri Matisse was born in Le Cateau-Cambresis, France. He grew up in Bohain-en-Vermandois, Picardy, France, where his parents owned a flower business.   In 1887 he went to Paris to study law, working as a court administrator in Le Cateau-Cambrésis after gaining his qualification.
