Dublin zoo a report ~ jack (6th)

Dublin zoo opened its doors on SeptemberĀ  1st 1831. In 1840, featuring 46 animals and 72 birdsĀ  donated by London zoo, the big decision was to throw its gates open to the public for a penny on Sundays. This was a big deal for the time.Now completely transformed the zoo has 28 hectares and is attracting over 1 million visitors a year. Officially Irelands biggest family attraction it not only offers a great day for all but also offers an adventure of learning. Animals at the zoo live good lives in social groups; they are fit and healthy, able to breed and raise their own young. They can be shown in their natural spaces with vegetation and water features to reflect their native habitat.
