What is a P.T.O. ~ an explanation by Ben (6th)

P.T.O. stands for power take off and is used to transfer the power from a running tractor or motor to power the equipment attached. The P.T.O. can rotate 9 to 16 times a second so farmers must be careful not to get entangled in the P.T.O. The P.T.O. should always be covered with a safety guard. There are many accidents because of the P.T.O. not being covered properly which cause people to get entangled in it.
